Please be sensible about the vehicle you bring to Guadalupe Canyon Oasis. The road from Highway 2 to our location is a smooth dirt road. During the last 2-3 miles into the canyon It becomes somewhat rougher and it is best to have a high-clearance vehicle. If you have a 4X4, pick up truck, or SUV, you'll be fine. Don't forget that you can always just leave your car at home, and use our friendly, dependable Shuttle service instead!
Guadalupe Canyon Oasis is fortunate to be located in an visa-free zone of Baja California, an area that may be visited without any kind of visa. This makes the border crossings very simple. (If you are planning to travel further into Mexico after visiting us, however, you will need to stop and pick up a travel visa when you cross the border.) To return to the States, you will need to bring either a passport, a receipt for a passport application or a driver's license and birth certificate to cross the border. You may find more information here. When you're traveling in Mexico there may be safety check points operated by the Mexican Military. These are normal safety check points that check for weapons and drugs. They may ask you to open your trunk for inspection.
Yes! Our restrooms include flush toilets and showers.
No, we are very remote, so remember to bring flashlights and plenty of good stories to share around your hot tub!
Guadalupe Canyon Oasis is situated in an area that offers some of the best outdoor activities in Baja California. One of the most popular activities includes hiking into the hills above the Oasis to swim in any one of seven different naturally occurring cool pools (some with waterfalls!) above the springs. You may also wish to visit some of the ancient indigenous petroglyphs and pictographs that are close by. We can direct you to the best viewing locations. Check out our Activities page for more information!
For your enjoyment and the enjoyment of others we ask that you follow our camp rules:
No, during the months of July and August, Guadalupe Canyon receives temperatures well above 100 degrees F. During this time, the Canyon is too hot to remain open and soaking in the hot springs is not optimal. We therefore do not accept reservations during these two months of each year. The Canyon usually closes partway through June. The exact date depends on weather conditions in the Canyon, which differ a bit each year. If you're considering making a booking for the month of June, please contact us first in order to confirm that the Canyon will be open for the dates you will be reserving. Thanks so much for your understanding!
